Longhorn Cellars and Wranglers Prime Rib Barn

‘Do no harm, but take no bull’

by Lorelei Helmke

Deanna Dickey and Dr. Michael Dickey have created a comfortable combination of winery and restaurant just off Highway 290 on Ranch Road 1376. Here one can enjoy the country chic ambiance and tasty wines of Longhorn Cellars. The winery is kid and dog friendly, with a truly Texan backdrop. You will find a couple of Longhorn cattle as well as games to play outside.

The Dickeys began this endeavor with Verasion Vineyards in 2014. From three locations in the Hill Country, they produced some lovely fruit for their wines. As they expanded their offering they brought in juice from the High Plains to offer a larger selection of bottlings. There is something here for everyone.

The restaurant features steaks but one can choose from poultry or seafood as well. It is a place to try their library wines and other special releases generally offered to wine club members only. Come spend the afternoon and stay for dinner.
